Eloquence Academy is excited to announce the recipient of a new $3,000 federal grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service (“AmeriCorps”) and Youth Service America through their groundbreaking 09/11 We Serve to Remember Grant Program. The grant places Eloquence Academy among one of 50 organizations nationwide that is committed to mourning those that lost their lives, memorializing the heroism demonstrated by first responders and military veterans, and celebrating the resilient American spirit of 2001 and years following.

An independent agency of the United States government, AmeriCorps aims to increase civic engagement. Each year, AmeriCorps offers stipended volunteer programs, over $960 million in financial support, and 3,100 active grants, ultimately engaging upwards of five million citizens in service. AmeriCorps is a champion of community service in the United States, and has been a longstanding partner of the Eloquence Charitable Fund.

“We are deeply honored to receive this support from AmeriCorps,” said Spencer Chaisanguanthum, Chief Executive Officer of Eloquence Academy. “This funding allows us to create meaningful opportunities for our students and community members to come together, reflect, and pay tribute. It is a powerful way to connect younger generations with an important part of our national history.”

Chief Executive Officer Spencer Chaisanguanthum, Director of the Charitable Fund Kira Waldhalm, and Service Learning Fellow Arnav Maheshwari will work together to manage the grant funding. Planned activities will include educational programming, a speech service, and community outreach efforts that highlight the stories of first responders, armed service members, and everyday citizens who answered the call to help during and after the attacks. The memorial programming is scheduled to take place around the week of September 11, 2025, with specific dates and event details to be announced in the coming weeks.
