We maintain an academic blog. Posts include the history of debate, how to find relevant educational resources beyond our offerings, and tips to advocate for debate and build a debate team in your school. Rather than functioning as another textbook, this collection is a roadmap to the broader debate community. We bring together practical advice, explanations, recommendations, and pathways to outside resources so that readers can move from learning about debate to participating in debate.

We maintain an online library of 60+ on-demand videos, self-guided lesson plans, worksheets, and research briefs, drawn directly from and adapted from our signature debate programs. Resources are thoughtfully organized to guide students from novice to experienced speaker, with materials that build progressively in complexity and skill. Many of the introductory-level concepts (how to find evidence, how to cut a card, etc.) apply to general academic work in the Humanities.
Each resource includes a clear guide for how to use it, outlining the purpose of the material, the skills it develops, and recommended ways to work through it.

All curriculum was developed over the course of a decade in consultation with industry-leading professionals at Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, New York City Urban Debate League, and Institute for Nonprofit Practice. It is intellectually stimulating yet engaging.
Relevance
The curriculum is constantly updated to incorporate the latest current events and a placed-based pedagogical approach. Students are able to see the relevance of what they are studying, engage more deeply with complex topics, and develop a stronger understanding of their role in the world around them.
Step-By-Step Growth
Our courses are intentionally scaffolded. Beginning students build foundational skills in rhetoric, persuasive communication, argument structure, and logical reasoning. As they advance, students encounter increasingly complex research, argumentation, debate strategy, and real-world topics.
The Translation Project
Debate is a popular activity with international participation. We are dedicated to translating our resources into languages and dialects spoken around the world, making practical, accessible education available to a growing number of students, educators, and communities.
So far, Service Learning Fellow Ellie Kim has led the project in English, Spanish, and Korean. Plans are in place for 102 more languages.
