Founded in 1999, BRI calls for civic education to help students examine the story of the United States and exercise the skills of citizenship. BRI has published 4,000 classroom resources and 300,000 pocket-sized constitutions. Their free civics and history curricula has been used directly with 4.5 million students nationwide, and their professional development programs have engaged over 76,000 teachers. In particular, the MyImpact Challenge awards cash prizes up to $40,000 to youth-led community service and advocacy projects that strengthen civil society and reflect the values of liberty, responsibility, and good citizenship. BRI has come to develop a robust record in supporting youth education.

“It is an honor to have received this grant from BRI,” said Spencer Chaisanguanthum, Chief Executive Officer of Eloquence Academy. “As a young middle school student, I engaged with BRI in innumerable ways: perusing their YouTube channel, voting in Think the Vote, and most of all, using their online resources to write my first-ever research paper about American democracy. I know that BRI is an inspiring organization with a mission of utmost importance. We are thrilled to have their support and financial backing.”

Chief Executive Officer Spencer Chaisanguanthum, Fundraising & Grants Coordinator Rudri Soni, and Director of the Charitable Fund Kira Waldhalm will work together to manage the grant funding. It will be dedicated to basic operational costs, the creation of new curricular resources, and the Winter Cup Debate Tournament—a two-day tournament to be held from December 13, 2025 through December 15, 2025, with divisions in Public Forum Debate for students in grades 4 through 12.
