EA Welcomes New Jersey Partner School

Eloquence Academy extends a formal welcome to Montclair Kimberly Academy (MKA)!
Located in Montclair, New Jersey, MKA is a private, coeducational, and college preparatory day school serving 1,050 students from transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade. Known for its rigorous academics, vibrant arts programs, and strong sense of community, MKA empowers students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. MKA is a member of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and was designated a Johns Hopkins School of Excellence in 2010. MKA students have a proud tradition of extracurricular engagement in athletics, musical theater, and visual arts. The school’s long-standing commitment to intellectual curiosity and character development makes it an ideal partner for a new debate program.
Our Debate-Inspired Classrooms program supports the funding or logistical needs of K-12, public, independent, magnet, charter, boarding, and homeschools in developing their own debate programs. Student coach Matthew Kwon will receive copies of our flagship curriculum. Additionally, Matthew plans to connect with our team on a bi-weekly basis to discuss best models for curriculum integration, plans for growing club membership, and a preliminary competition schedule for the next school year. Through the comprehensive support afforded by our program, Matthew aims to bring 15 MKA students to regional and state tournaments in the spring.

Eloquence Academy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and 509(a)(2) public charity dedicated to increasing equitable academic debate opportunities for rural and historically underserved students. The Academy offers debate classes, summer camps, workshops, tournaments, in-school programs, and online resources for 2,200+ students across 35 states and 15 countries.
