High School Transition & Journey Seminars at Impactful Storytelling

c/o Eloquence Academy

Today, we partnered with the Volunteer Tutors Organization (VTO). We hosted two online seminars—the High School Transition and the High School Journey—for 25 middle school students enrolled in Impactful Storytelling and VTO’s summer camps!

Founded in 2021, VTO is a nonprofit organization that provides online, exploration-based learning opportunities to young students nationwide through 1:1 tutoring, group lessons, seminars, classes, and camps. Guided by the belief that learning should be fun, enjoyable, and engaging, VTO aims to inspire young students to discover their passions. Tutors are competent in a variety of academic disciplines and extracurricular activities from science to history. Additionally, VTO partners with organizations and Title 1 schools to bring valuable educational resources to underserved students.

Both seminars featured high school upperclassmen as panelists, including Chief Executive Officer Spencer Chaisanguathum as well as Rhythm Bazari, Ava Khossravi, Emily Khossravi, and Kayley Xu from VTO. Panelists addressed a wide range of pre-submitted and live questions regarding study habits, balancing extracurriculars and academic work, varsity sports, leadership in school clubs, finding passions in clubs, community service, and the public vs independent school experience. Students left with a clearer understanding of the transition from middle school to high school and the many opportunities and challenges inherent in high school. Students that were unable to attend can reach out to Spencer at spencer@eloquenceacademy.org to claim a free full-length recording!

While Eloquence Academy is a debate organization, we ultimately aim to prepare our students for college readiness, career engagement, and community impact. To this end, we often incorporate collaborations with partner organizations, complementary workshops, and elective courses during Impactful Storytelling. These opportunities ultimately foster a holistic learning experience that equips students with the confidence, versatility, and real-world skills needed to thrive beyond the classroom.

We are grateful to the VTO team and are proud of what their students accomplished.
