Tell us about your school.
Dilley High School is a rural, Title 1 public school hours away from all larger cities. Therefore, we face challenges related to travel and competing in tournaments far away from Dilley. However, regardless of our location, our students and competitors are increasingly invested in their education and our speech and debate program.

Tell us about your team.
We are a young team with 25 successful competitors. Our speech and debate team has achieved back-to-back district titles and produced both state and regional champions, with the team earning our third title in the 2024-2025 school year amongst 7 other districts. However, we are a rural team which eats into our budget due to travel and having to attend tournaments in cities with larger judging and tournament fees.

Which events do you participate in?
Poetry (POE), Prose (PRO), Informative Speaking (INF), Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD), Policy Debate (CX)

How could additional funding help your school?
As Dilley High School is a rural, Title 1 school, funding would support tournament fees and resources.
