Eloquence Academy is excited to announce the recipient of a new grant from the Karma for Cara Foundation (K4C) through their groundbreaking Karma for Cara Microgrant Program. The grant represents an extension of our previous funding from K4C in November of 2024.

K4C was founded in 2012 by 21-year-old Cara Becker and her family. At the time, Cara was being treated for leukemia. Cara spent weeks at a time in the hospital, which presented her with time to reflect on her life, her situation, and how fortunate she was to have such a dedicated and solid support system. Seeing the stark contrast between her circumstances and those of the patients around her, Cara began hosting blood drives in Baltimore and Chicago. Now, driven by the power of kindness, K4C has broadened their mission: developing youth into citizen leaders and preparing them to take active roles to repair our world. Their quarterly microgrants provide the inspiration and financial support needed to elevate 180 burgeoning community betterment initiatives to the next, increasingly impactful level.

“Our mission extends beyond the act of public speaking or debate: we share K4C’s belief in youth as the dynamic, articulate leaders of tomorrow,” said Spencer Chaisanguanthum, Chief Executive Officer of Eloquence Academy. “At a time when innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership are more important than ever, this grant provides critical support that will help us turn ambitious goals into measurable outcomes. As we move forward, we are committed to using these resources responsibly and strategically to maximize their value and deliver results that make a meaningful difference.”

Fundraising & Grants Coordinator Rudri Soni will work to manage the grant funding, primarily dedicated to an in-person recycling and public speaking workshop in Los Angeles through our new Climate Change Education Initiative. The programming is scheduled to take place on the week of October 6, 2025, with specific dates and event details to be announced in the coming weeks.
